Door Lever
A door lever is a handle or lever attached to a door, typically used to open or close it. Door levers are a common component of door hardware and come in various designs and styles. They are often used in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Unlike traditional doorknobs, door levers are operated by pushing down or pulling up on a lever rather than turning a knob.
Door levers are available in different materials, finishes, and configurations, allowing for customization to match the overall aesthetic of a space. They can be found on interior and exterior doors and are commonly used in homes, offices, hotels, and other buildings. Additionally, door levers may be designed for specific functions, such as privacy levers with locking mechanisms for bedrooms or bathrooms, or passage levers for non-locking doors.

What is the difference between Hollow Door Lever and Solid Door Lever?

The main differences between a Hollow Door Lever and a Solid Door Lever lie in the type and structure of the doors they are installed on:
1.Hollow Door Lever:
- Suitable for hollow doors, which typically consist of two thin and lightweight layers of wood with a hollow core.
- Hollow doors are lighter and are commonly used for interior spaces such as bedrooms, bathrooms, or areas where high security and soundproofing are not essential.
- Hollow door levers are usually lighter in weight since they don't need to support a heavy door slab.
2.Solid Door Lever:
- Designed for solid doors, which are typically made from a solid, heavier material like solid wood or other sturdy materials without a hollow core.
- Solid doors are heavier and more robust, providing better soundproofing and security. They are often used for exterior doors, such as front or back doors.
- Solid door levers may require a stronger construction to support the weight of a heavier door slab.
The choice between a hollow door lever and a solid door lever often depends on the type and purpose of the door. When selecting door levers, considerations should also include their design, finish, and color to ensure they complement the overall decor.

Door Lever Maintenance Tips
When it comes to maintaining your door levers, it's essential to use the right cleaning products. Abrasive or harsh chemicals can damage the hardware, so it's best to use a mild soap solution or a specialized cleaner that's designed for the type of material your levers are made of.
For instance, brass levers may require a specific cleaning solution to prevent tarnishing. If you want to maintain their shine, it's essential to know how to clean brass door levers properly.
In addition to cleaning, it's important to regularly inspect your door levers for signs of wear and tear. Over time, levers can become loose, making it difficult to turn or pull. If you notice any signs of damage or wear, such as scratches or dents, address them promptly to prevent further damage.
Regular lubrication is also crucial for maintaining door levers. Silicone-based lubricants can be applied to the moving parts of your levers to keep them functioning smoothly. Use the correct type of lubricant, as using the wrong kind could cause damage or buildup.
Finally, if your door levers are outdated or damaged beyond repair, it may be time for a replacement. Upgrading to newer, more secure hardware can help improve the security and overall appearance of your home.
By following these tips, you can ensure that your door levers are properly maintained and functioning at their best.
